OUR CHURCH MISSION

To teach the knowledge of salvation and the remission of sins, and to preach the whole counsel of God, (Luke 1:77; Acts 20:17)

And to teach people how to live holy and sanctified in this present world, and to prepare them for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, (Romans 13:14; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-5, 7-8; Titus 2:12-14; and 1 Peter 1:15-16).

Our mandate is “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and the inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me,” (Acts 26:18).

We Believe…the Bible is the infallible Word of God. There is one God. Everyone has sinned and needs salvation.

We must obey the gospel by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection).

Jesus Christ is coming again to catch His Bride (the church) away. The righteous will inherit eternal life!

Through the POWER of Jesus Christ You Can Receive… Forgiveness of Your Sins… Baptism of the Holy Spirit… Healing… Deliverance… Miracles… Your Needs Supplies…Restoration.

OUR HISTORY

Pastor Otis Troy Moore, Jr. was born on October 30, 1957, in Hartford, Connecticut to Otis T. Moore Sr. and Norma Moore. Pastor Moore and Kristina Moore, a native of Sacramento, were married on February 4, 1984. They are blessed with three daughters: Karissa, Kamara, and Kamika.

He became a born again Christian on February 18, 1980 and was called to preach three years later in 1983. He also preached his first sermon that year. Otis Moore was a church member of Christ Temple Apostolic Church, in Sacramento, California. His father in the Gospel was the late Pastor Robert B. Holman, Sr. He began his work for the Lord as a Prayer Room Counselor and soon after became a Sunday School Teacher. He also served as the Youth President and Brotherhood Chaplain. Subsequently, Pastor Moore was placed in charge of the Youth Prison Ministry and the Charity Outreach Team.

He started the New Year 2003, declaring, “No longer business as usual,” not realizing what impact this statement would have on his life. He was led by the Lord to take three days off from his job to go on a three-day fast in prayer and consecration in the month of January, 2003. It was during this 3-day fast in the month of February that the Lord gave him a dream. From this dream, the Lord revealed to Pastor Moore that it was time for him to begin pastoring out of his humble abode. Pastor Moore recalls that moment with vivid imagery and detail.

Lighthouse Apostolic Church was birthed out of the scriptures found in: 1 Corinthians 16:19, “The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.” Paul wrote to the saints at Colosse said, “Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house,” Colossian 4:15. To Philemon he wrote “And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in thy house,” Philemon 1:2.

The birth of Lighthouse Apostolic Church occurred in the living room of Pastor Moore’s home, on August 2, 2003, seven people committed themselves to follow him as he followed Christ, and there the ministry was born. Since then the Lord has blessed Pastor Moore and the Lighthouse Apostolic family with their church building, which was dedicated on January 23, 2005. Since the dedication of the building several souls have been baptized in Jesus name and the Lord is adding to the church.

The name Lighthouse Apostolic Church was chosen because of what a lighthouse represents. It gives light to ships that need to find their way to shore. Lighthouses have prevented many shipwrecks and have guided many safely home to shore. As a church, its members are here to guide souls unto Jesus, who is the Light of the world.

As Pastor Moore states: We are Apostolic, because the Church is “built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief Cornerstone,” Ephesians 2:20. The Bible also tells us, “they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship…” Acts 2:42. This is why we are called Lighthouse Apostolic Church.

The church’s mandate is taken from the words Jesus spoke to Paul in the book of Acts 26:18, “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
· · · Our Doctrinal Statement · · ·
We Believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, written by holy men of old as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

We Believe in One God who is eternal and infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purposes; omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. (Deut. 6:4; Isa. 37:16, 43:10-11, 44:6,8,24, 45:6,21-22, 46:9-10; John 4:24).

We Believe that God manifested as the Father in creation, as the Son in redemption, and as the Holy Ghost in emanation, meaning God issued from His substance to fill the hearts of people today. (Father: Gen, 1:1,26-27; Isa.9:6; Jere. 31:9; Mal 1:6, 2:10 Son: Isa. 7:14, 9:6-7, 43:11; Matt. 1:21,23,25; Luke 1:35, 2:11; John 1:1,14; Acts 20:28; Rom. 1:3-4; 1 Tim. 3:16; Heb. 1:1-2, 10:5; 1 John 4:2-3 Holy Ghost: John 7:37-39, 14:17,26, 16:7; Acts 2:17-18).

We Believe that in Jesus dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, for it pleased the Father that in him should all the fullness dwell. (John 1:1,14, 10:30, 12:45, 14:9; Acts 20:28; Rom. 1:20; Col. 1:19, 2:9-10; 1 John 2:23).

We Believe in the virgin Birth. Jesus was born both human and divine; He was God manifested in flesh. (Isa. 7:14, 9:6; Matt. 1:21; Luke 1:35, 2:11; Rom. 1:3-4; Gal. 4:4-5; Col. 1:15; 1 Tim. 3:16; Titus 2:13; Heb, 2:14,16, 10:5,10).

We Believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. We believe that He ascended on high and sent His Spirit, the Holy Ghost, which was poured out at Jerusalem over 1900 years ago, and it is this same Spirit that is filling the hearts of those who diligently seek Him today. (John 19:16-18,30,40-42, 20:1-9,17-18,27-31; Luke 11:11-13; John 7:37-39, 15:26, 16:7; Acts 1:8, 2:17-18; Rom. 8:9-11).

We Believe in baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues (languages) as the Spirit gives utterance. This constitutes the new birth. (Mk. 16:17; John 1:12-13, 3:3,5-8; Acts 2:1-4, 2:37-38,41, 8:16-17, 19:2-6, 22:16).

We Believe in a holy, sanctified life. (John 8:11; Acts 1:8; Rom. 12:1-2; 1 Cor. 3:16-17, 6:9-11,19-20; 2 Cor. 5:17, 6:14-7:1; Eph. 5:27; 1 Thess. 4:1-5,7-8; Titus 2:12; Heb. 12:14; James 4:4; 1 Pet. 1:15-16, 4:17-18; 1 John 2:15-17).

We Believe in the glorious catching away (the rapture) of the saints when Jesus returns in the clouds in glory to take His people to Heaven. (Eph.5:27; 1 Thess. 4:14-18).

We Believe that Jesus is the only saving Name. (Acts 4:12; Eph. 3:14-15; Philippians 2:9-11; Col. 3:17).

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," Says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the Lord Almighty. "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land," says the Lord Almighty.
Malachi 3:10-12

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
Luke 6:38

"A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord."
